A New Home for Soccer Fans

March 1st, 2010

As part of a major renovation project around the sport complex and soccer stadium of Feyenoord in Rotterdam, their fan shop needed to close down for an unknown period. But a soccer club with such a great history (founded in 1908) and with one of the biggest amount of fans in The Netherlands (known as “the legion”) it simply needed a place for their club aficionados to hang out. Together with the Feyenoord management and their official clothing partner PUMA, kubik developed a concept for a temporary fan shop.

The fan shop is created out of modular building units and placed in the direct vicinity of Feyenoord famous soccer stadium, known in The Netherlands as “the bathtub”. The highly recognizable club colors of Feyenoord (red & white) are the basic elements of the exterior and interior design. In order to meet the stringent budget restrictions for this temporary setting, kubik proposed to upgrade the existing store fixtures.
