Kubik designs modular presentation for Shell Chemicals

~ Interactive element to attracts students to the booth ~

Amsterdam, May 7, 2007Royal Dutch Shell, one of the worlds most well known energy and petrochemical companies, recently turned to Kubik Amsterdam to help address Shell’s on-going need to recruit staff for their Netherlands operations in Moerdijk and Pernis.

Shell sought Kubik’s design-build expertise to create a modular exhibit that could be used at career and trade fairs throughout the Netherlands. The environment had to entertain and engage the students while helping Shell to identify potential new employees.

Kubik designed and built a modular 48 square meter environment that used a Shell Pipeline computer game as its centrepiece. The interactive game challenged visitors to build a working pipeline in a short period of time. If the pipeline was not properly constructed and could not properly transport water, the game was over.

The Shell environment generated the expected results, with the interactive pipeline game creating high volumes of traffic for Shell.

“The game worked great, we’ve got a lot of positive reactions from it,” said Heleen Terpstra, Attraction & Jetnet Manager at Shell Visual Media Services. “There were so many visits to our environment - we are very pleased with the number and the quality of the contacts we generated with our interactive display.”

“We are very pleased with our design and execution. Not only is the new Shell environment colourful and attractive, more importantly it helped deliver the results Shell was looking for,” said Hans Wolters, project manager, Kubik. “We are delighted to have partnered with Shell and to see the positive results that Shell got out of this.”

This successful stand made its debut at the Skills Masters show on March 6, 7 and 8, 2007 in Rotterdam and will now be used at other trade and career fairs throughout the Netherlands.
