UEFA Champions League Trophy Tour presented by Heineken great success in Asia
~Kubik designs and develops travelling exposition to leverage Heinekens’ UEFA Champions League Sponsorship~
Amsterdam, June 6, 2007 – Heineken International, one of the world’s foremost brands, has agreed to become sponsor of the UEFA Champions League, the worlds’ most international and premium club soccer tournament, through to 2009.
In order to leverage their sponsorship with football fans around the world, Heineken International established a travelling exposition featuring the Champions League Trophy – the European Champion Club’s Cup - one of the most prestigious trophies in all of football. The environment also features unique UEFA Champions League memorabilia’s from past Tournaments and the players who have taken part.
Designed and built by Kubik, the touring environment brings the famous UEFA Champions League Trophy directly to the fans via a clever Internet-linked entry code, allowing true fans a photo session with the trophy. The environment also includes team shirts, players’ shoes, autographed balls, pictures and video footage marking the great moments of the UEFA Champions League history.
Although there are only European teams participating in the UEFA Champions League, the tournament is very popular in Asia, where the first tour took place. The Kubik-designed Heineken Expo travelled to 6 Asian cities in 6 weeks. In order to facilitate set-up and transportation, Kubik specifically designed and produced easy-to-handle display formats, which could be easily transported by air and quickly installed at different locations in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok and Pattaya.

That’s a lot of consumers who will treasure their photo with the UEFA Champions League Trophy.”

The Heineken touring environment has finished its tour of Asia, but will be on hand for the final of the Champions League taking place in Athens on the 24th of May 2007.
