ABN AMRO Wins Prestigious SponsorRing Award
~ Kubik’s Creativity and Expertise Rewarded ~
Amsterdam, November 23, 2006 - ABN AMRO won the prestigious Dutch award ‘SponsorRing’ in the ‘Sport’ category for their work on the Volvo Ocean Race, a nine-leg, 32,700 mile race across four of the world’s oceans.
SponsorRing is an annual prize given out for the best and most distinguished sponsorship programs and aims to promote and to stimulate professionalism in the sponsorship world.
Nominated along with Heineken and KNVB, Nationale-Nederlanden and KNVB, Plus and Eredivisie, and Unilever and NOC*NSF, TEAM ABN AMRO was awarded the prize on November 16, 2006 in Amsterdam.
Jan Berent Heukensfeldt Jansen, Managing Director TEAM ABN AMRO, cited Kubik’s contribution to ABN AMRO’s award.
Kubik worked hand-in-hand with ABN AMRO to leverage their sponsorship program, including the design of the event-marketing guide, producing the office and port-branding program, planning a turnkey hospitality pavilion, and overseeing the production and execution of this event in race stopovers across seven countries. As each team sailed into port, they were greeted by the Kubik-designed hospitality pavilion. Kubik used their build-design expertise to make the pavilion capable of housing special audio-visual presentations, receptions and haute cuisine dinners for up to 600 guests.
“As preferred supplier for Team ABN AMRO we are pleased that ABN AMRO has received this award,” says Hajo Reinders, Managing Director, Kubik. "We worked with ABN AMRO to create a branding and hospitality program that was aligned with ABN AMRO’s sponsorship needs at each port. In order to leverage ABN AMRO’s sponsorship, we used the spirit of the race as inspiration for the interior and exterior of the pavilion as well as for the ABN AMRO-branding
used at each port.”
