Kubik Helps Shell Explore for New Talent at EAGE 2006
~ Awarded Contract to to work with Shell for EAGE 2007 ~

Amsterdam, November 7, 2006 - Shell, a global group of oil, gas and petrochemical companies and one of the best known brands in the world, recently hired Kubik Inc. to provide design-build expertise for the European Association of Geoscientists & Engineers Conference (EAGE) 2006.

Shell may be one of the best known brands in the world and designing an engaging environment to promote Shell Exploration and Production – the arm of their company that drills for oil miles under the bottom of the ocean – was an appealing challenge for Kubik.

In order to meet all of Shell’s needs, Kubik created two distinct areas for the Shell environment: an open area that clearly communicated the Shell Exploration and Production brand and a semi-closed off area for in-depth presentations and relationship building.

The area dedicated to exploration and production utilised an integrated high-tech 3D display system with an interactive, hands-on display unit. Participants were invited to navigate a fully functioning probe through multi-layers of sand to find and identify minerals- much like what geophysicists would do on-site and in laboratories.

Next to the interactive display were placed several testimonials from young ambitious employees working for Shell all over the world. The combination of testimonials and interactivity provided a strong impression of the high technological world of Shell Exploration and Production and the kind of people Shell wants to recruit. The semi-closed off area provided an environment for students and other recruits to sit down with a Shell employee for a personal interview.

Paul R. Wood, Geophysicist, Technology and Organisational Development, Shell, complimented the Kubik team stating, “…the overall impression of the stand design and functionality was excellent,” with Shell receiving many compliments on the final product.

“By working seamlessly with Shell, and London-based Visual Media Services we were able to find creative solutions that met all of Shell’s needs,” said Hans Wolters, Project Manager, Kubik. “Our unique approach at Kubik has opened the door for us to be part of Shell’s highly coveted and difficult to attain Preferred Supplier List and has resulted in us being awarded the contract to work with Shell for EAGE 2007.”
