Bugaboo Stroller Feature Experience Wins MOD Award
~ Kubik recognized as best-in-class for portable modular exhibit design ~
Toronto/Amsterdam, April 16, 2007-The editors of Event Design Magazine have announced that Kubik is the winner of the first-ever Mod Award in the 10’x10’ category. Kubik was recognized for their imaginative design-build work in support of Bugaboo strollers.
The Mod Award recognizes excellence in modular exhibit design and was conceived to shine a spotlight on the designers and builders of modular structures and systems-based architecture.
“We are thrilled to have won this inaugural award,” said Hajo Reinders, Managing Director, Kubik Amsterdam. “The Bugaboo design was a great challenge for Kubik and we couldn’t be happier that our creative design work has been recognized by Event Design magazine.”
To demonstrate the versatile features of the Bugaboo strollers Kubik created a novel modular design showcasing the stroller’s flexibility in a variety of situations and environments.
Kubik conceptualized design brings together typical urban day-to-day situations that stroller users encounter: a subway entrance gate, a car trunk, a luggage scan, stairs and a closet. Instead of showing the environments one by one, Kubik’s design combines these 5 different environments into a single display, the ultimate presentation of the world of Bugaboo. The welcoming design encourages first-hand demonstrations of the stroller in each of these environments, highlighting the stroller’s unique flexibility on a more personal level.
“We are very pleased that this design won an award. It captured perfectly the different functionalities in different user occasions and the mobility aspect of Bugaboo strollers in an exciting way.We’ve had very positive reactions to date.” said Monique Schreurs, marketing project manager from Bugaboo. “We had a number of unique requirements: the design had to be modular, self-installing, fit in an elevator, and be usable in the US and Europe all while remaining focused on the main benefits of Bugaboo’s strollers and Kubik came through.”
